Man Acquitted of Murder in Bar Fight
Man Acquitted of Murder in Bar Fight March 17th, 2012
Our client was charged with Murder in Erie County. This incident allegedly took place at a bar in Kenmore, a suburb of Buffalo NY. Jurors reached the verdict of not guilty after a short deliberation. This was the client's second trial for this alleged crime, the first concluding with a hung jury.
The alleged defendant chose Daniel DuBois to represent him as his criminal defense attorney. The client took the stand, per the guidance of his counsel, Mr. DuBois, and his client's testimony to the jury changed the course of the case. This practice is not always necessary in criminal defense cases, however, in this specific case, it was necessary to reveal the truth. The jury found that our client had acted in self-defense, based upon the evidence provided by the defense counsel and the defendant's testimony.
Our office worked closely with the defendant and built a case based on the facts provided to us from police reports, witness statements, and the sworn statements of the defendant to achieve the rightful not guilty verdict. When hiring a criminal defense attorney in Buffalo NY or surrounding areas it is important to have a lawyer who works with you to fight for your justice.
